The AI-literacy feature: teaching children to recognise, direct and understand AI rather than simply consume it.
Status: Live / built, with the same removal/reinstatement history as Social Resilience — see that document's "Removal and Reinstatement History" section, which applies identically here (Director was deleted in the same commit and reinstated in the same reversion effort).
An AI-literacy space for children, teaching them to work with AI critically rather than simply consume its output. Structured around three strands:
See Mission and Philosophy. The core conviction: children growing up in an AI-saturated world need to understand AI as a literacy skill, comparable in importance to reading — not an elective bolted on to "real" curriculum subjects.
A deliberate constraint was set against future-speculation dressed as certainty — the feature does not present speculative claims about AI's future capabilities or societal impact as settled fact. This mirrors the broader "never claims more than the evidence supports" communication principle applied to child-facing content specifically.
A blueprint-aesthetic visual design — distinct from Aria's tutoring interface and from the Social Resilience orb, reinforcing that this is a different kind of interaction (analytical/technical rather than conversational/supportive).
A critic finding during the adversarial review specifically named the Director tab (referred to there as an "AI-literacy prompt lab") as one of the features whose removal-then-persistence-as-a-live-design was flagged as a governance gap. See Social Resilience and Adversarial Review Process for the full context — the same finding and the same resolution (school ownership) apply to this feature.
