Your password has been reset. Because you used your old recovery code, here is a new one — the old code no longer works.
This code is the only way back into your account if you forget your password again.
Your classroom data is encrypted, so no one — not even Synapse — can unlock it without this code or your password.
Keep it somewhere safe, such as a password manager or your institution's secure records.
Two-step sign-in has been turned off
This account had two-step sign-in (an authenticator app) switched on. Resetting the password with a recovery code turns it off, because the codes came from a device this account can no longer assume anyone still has.
Your account is protected by your new password alone until you set it up again. You can do that straight away from the Security section of your dashboard — it takes about a minute and needs any authenticator app.
